Epiphany 4 C



L       If I speak in the tongues of mortals and of angels but do not have love I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. (1 Corinthians 13:1) Let us confess the ways we fail to speak the language of love.

L        Love is…
C        patient and kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. it does not rejoice in wrongdoing but rejoices in the truth. (1 Corinthians 13:4,6)

L       And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love. (1 Corinthians 13:13)

Epiphany 3 C



L       The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes. By them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward. (Psalm 19:7-8, 11) Let us confess the ways we fail to keep the commands of the Lord.

L       Most merciful God,
C       Forgive me my hidden faults. Keep me also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then I will be blameless and innocent of great transgression. (Psalm 19:12b-14)

L       The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever. The ordinances of the LORD are sure and altogether righteous. They are more precious than gold and sweeter than honey from the comb. (Psalm 19:9-10)

Epiphany 2 C



L       For Zion's sake I will not keep silent and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until her vindication shines out like the dawn, and her salvation like a burning torch. (Isaiah 62:1) Let us confess the ways we do not speak up for others and fail to follow the ways of God.

L       O Lord,
C       Your love reaches to the heavens and your faithfulness to the clouds for with you is the well of life and in your light we see light. (Psalm 36:5, 9)

L         How priceless is your love, O God! Your righteousness is like the strong mountains, your justice like the great deep… (Psalm 36:6-7)

The Baptism of Our Lord Year C



L        Ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. Ascribe to the Lord the glory due God's name; Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness. (Psalm 29:1-2) Let us confess the ways we fail to worship the Lord with all our heart, mind and soul.

Time for confession and refection

L       Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness
C       O Lord, give strength to your people; give us, O Lord, the blessings of peace.  (Psalm 29:11)

L         But now thus says the Lord, the One who created and formed you: Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. (Isaiah 43:1)

Epiphany Year C


L         Arise, shine, for your light has come. Give (us) your justice and your righteousness, O God that we may defend the needy and rescue the poor... (Isaiah 60:1; Psalm 72:1, 4)  Let us confess the ways we fail to care for the poor and defend the needy.

          L       Arise, shine, for your light has come… (Isaiah 60:1)
C        May the righteous flourish and let there be an abundance of peace that the Lord’s compassion might shine on the lowly and the poor. (Psalm 72:7, 15)

L       Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. Then you shall see and be radiant and your heart shall thrill and rejoice when the Lord delivers those who have no helper. (Isaiah 60:1, 5; Psalm 72:12)
