Lent 3 C

L     Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread and your labor for that which does not satisfy? Seek the Lord while he may be found. Call upon him when he is near. (Isaiah 55:2,6) Let us confess the ways we fail to seek the Lord.

silence is kept for confession and reflection

L     O God you are my God
C     Eagerly I seek you. My soul thirsts for you and my flesh faints for you, for your steadfast love is better than life. (Psalm 63:1,3)

L     Forsake wicked ways and unrighteous thoughts. Return to the Lord that he may have mercy, to our God who abundantly pardon. (Isaiah 55:&)

Lent 2 C

L         Brothers and sisters (do not) live as enemies of the cross of Christ (whose) end is destruction; whose god is the belly; who glory in their shame and set their minds on earthly things. (Philippians 3:17, 19) Let us confess the ways we set our minds on earthly things.

Silence is kept for confession and reflection

L       Forsake me not, O God of my salvation;
C      Teach me your way, O Lord; lead me on a level path. Hear my voice when I call; have mercy on me and answer me. (Psalm 27:7,9,)

L       …our citizenship is in heaven, and it is from there that we are expecting a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ who will transform the body of our humiliation that it may be conformed to the body of his glory, by the power that also enables him to make all things subject to himself.
(Philippians 3:20-21)

Lent 1 C

L       …if you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For one believes with the heart and so is justified, and one confesses with the mouth and so is saved. (Romans 10:9-10) Let us confess the ways in which we do not trust God nor proclaim Jesus as Lord.

Silence is kept for confession and reflection

L        Most merciful God…
C       Create in me a clean heart, O God and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence and do not take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and uphold me with a willing spirit. (Psalm 51:10-12)

L       Hear the word of the Lord. When you call to me, I will answer you; I will be with you in trouble and will rescue you and honor you. I will show you my salvation. (Psalm 91:15-16)

Transfiguration Year C

L        Since it is by God's mercy that we are engaged in this ministry, we do not lose heart. We have renounced the shameful things that one hides; we refuse to practice cunning or to falsify God's word; but by the open statement of the truth we commend ourselves to the conscience of everyone in the sight of God.  (2 Corinthians 4:1-3)
Silence is kept for confession and reflection
L        Holy is the Lord.
C        LET US PROCLAIM THE GREATNESS OF GOD FOR THE LORD LOVES JUSTICE AND ESTABLISHES EQUITY AND RIGHTEOUSNESS.  (Psalm 99)

L        Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And all of us, with unveiled faces, seeing the glory of the Lord as though reflected in a mirror, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another... (2 Corinthians 3:17-18)
