Advent 4b

L       (The Lord) scatters the proud in their conceit, casting down the mighty from their thrones and lifting up the lowly, filling the hungry with good things and sending the rich empty away. Let us confess the conceit that separates us from God. (Luke 1:51-53)

Silence for confession and reflection

L       You have come to the aid of your people.
C           My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for you have done great things for me, and holy is your name. (Luke 1:46, 47, 49, 54)

L                   You have mercy on those who fear you, from generation to generation to remember the promise of mercy. (Luke 1:50, 54) To God who is able to strengthen you to bring about the obedience of faith through Jesus Christ, be the glory forever! (Romans 16:26, 27)
