Advent 1b

There is no one who calls on your name, or attempts to take hold of you; for you have hidden your face from us, and have delivered us into the hand of our iniquity.  We have all become like one who is unclean and all our righteous deeds are like a filthy cloth. We all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away. (Isaiah 64:6,7)

Time for confession and reflection

L              O Lord,

C             Do not be exceedingly angry and do not remember our sin forever for we are all your people. Restore us, O God; let your face shine upon us, and we shall be saved. (Isaiah 64:9, Psalm 80:3)

L                        O LORD, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand. Give us life that we may call upon your name. (Isaiah 64 Psalm 80:18)
