L The
teaching of the LORD is perfect and revives the soul; the testimony of the LORD
is sure and gives wisdom to the simple. The statutes of the LORD are just and
rejoice the heart; the commandment of the LORD is clear and gives light to the
eyes. The fear of the LORD is clean and endures forever; the judgments of the
LORD are true and righteous altogether. (Psalm 19:7-9) Let us confess the ways
we resist the teaching of the Lord.
Silence is kept for
confession and reflection
L O
Lord, my God
C Cleanse me from my secret faults
and keep me from presumptuous sins;
let them not get dominion over me; then I shall be whole and sound and
innocent of a great offense. (Psalm 19:12-13)
L … the message about the cross is
foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the
power of God (for) we proclaim Christ crucified, the power of God and the
wisdom of God. (1 Corinthians 1:18, 23)
