Pentecost 5b

L       The Lord is good to those who wait and merciful to the soul that seeks patiently for God. It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord; to sit alone in silence when the Lord has imposed it… (Lamentations 3:25-26, 28) Let us confess our reluctance to wait for the Lord.

Silence is kept for confession and reflection

L       Hear, O LORD,

C       Have mercy upon us and be our helper, O Lord. Turn our wailing into dancing and clothe us with joy. (Psalm 30:10-11)

L       The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases and God’s mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion," says my soul, "therefore I will hope in God." (Lamentations 3:22-24)

Pentecost 4b

L       “…we urge you not to accept the grace of God in vain. For he says, "At an acceptable time I have listened to you, and on a day of salvation I have helped you." (2 Corinthians 6:1-2) Let us confess the ways we fail to live in the grace of God.
Silence is kept for confession and reflection
L       Let the redeemed of the Lord proclaim God’s redemption
C      Give thanks to the Lord, for the Lord is good and God's mercy endures forever. (Psalm 107:1-2)

L       See, now is the acceptable time; see, now is the day of salvation!” (We) give thanks to you, Lord, for your steadfast love and your wonderful works for all people. (2 Corinthians 6:2, Psalm 107:31)

Pentecost 3b

L       …the love of Christ urges us on, because we are convinced that one has died for all; therefore all have died. And he died for all, so that those who live might live no longer for themselves, but for him who died and was raised for them.(2 Corinthians 5:14-15) Let us confess the ways we continue to live for ourselves.

Silence is kept for confession and reflection

L       It is good to give thanks to the LORD,
C         to herald your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night; For you have made me glad by your acts. (Psalm 92:1-2)

L           From now on, therefore, we regard no one from a human point of view; (for) if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; see, everything has become new. (2 Corinthians 5:16-17)
